FORMER OILER MACINTYRE SIGNS WITH PITTSBURGH

Left wing Steve MacIntyre has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins.  MacIntyre scored 0-1-1 with 93 PIM in 34 games with the Oilers last season.

FORMER OILER DESLAURIERS SIGNS WITH ANAHEIM

Goaltender Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers has signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Anaheim Ducks.  Deslauriers spent all of last season with the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League, posting a 17-13-4 record with a 2.81 GAA and a .906 save percentage in 35 games.

FORMER OILER JACQUES SIGNS WITH ANAHEIM

Left wing  Jean-Francois Jacques has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Anaheim Ducks.  Jacques scored 4-1-5 with 63 PIM in 51 games with Edmonton last season.

FORMER OILER STORTINI SIGNS WITH NASHVILLE

Left wing Zack Stortini has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Nashville Predators. Stortini scored 0-4-4 with 76 PIM in 32 games with Edmonton before being demoted to the American Hockey League mid-season.  He added 1-2-3 with 53 PIM in 29 games with Oklahoma City.

FORMER OILER SOURAY SIGNS WITH DALLAS

Defenceman Sheldon Souray, who was an unrestricted free agent after being bought out by the Oilers, has signed a one-year, $1.65 million contract with the San Jose Sharks. Souray spent last season in the minors after calling out OIlers management on a variety of issues


FORMER OILER VANDERMEER SIGNS WITH SAN JOSE

Defenceman Jim Vandermeer, who was an unrestricted free agent, has signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the San Jose Sharks.  Vandermeer scored 2-12-14 with 74 PIM in 62 games with the Oilers last season.

HEAD SCOUT MACGREGOR SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

Oilers Head Amateur Scout Stu MacGregor has agreed to a three-year contract extension. MacGregor has been with the Oilers for 11 seasons and had been their head scout since 2007. 


REDDOX SIGNS WITH SWEDISH TEAM
May 24, 2011

Forward Liam Reddox has signed an undisclosed one-year contract with Vaxjo of the Swedish Elite League.  Reddox, who was set to become a restricted free agent, scored 1-9-10 with 20 PIM in 44 games with Edmonton last year, and added 18-15-33 with 16 PIM in 37 games with Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League. 


OILERS TO PICK FIRST OVERALL IN NHL ENTRY DRAFT

The Edmonton Oilers will select first overall in the NHL Entry Draft for the second straight season.

The New Jersey Devils actually won this year's draft lottery, jumping from 8th overall to 4th overall.  Their win meant the top three teams in the draft remained unchanged and the Oilers retain their first overall ranking in the June 24 draft in Minnesota.
