Sept. 10: Oilers re-sign centre Andrew Cogliano to a one-year, $1 million contract.  Cogliano scored 10-18-28 with 31 PIM in 82 games with the Oilers last season.

Aug 29: Oilers re-sign centre Sam Gagner to a two-year deal. $4.55 M.  The deal will pay Gagner $2.75 million in each of the next two seasons.  Gagner scored 15-26-41 with 33 PIM in 68 games with the Oilers last season.
Aug 9: Oilers re-sign left-winger Liam Reddox to a one-year, $550,000 contract.  Reddox scored 18-17-35 with 24 PIM in 70 games with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League last season, and added 0-2-2 with 4 PIM in nine games with the Oilers.
Aug 6:
Oilers sign unrestricted free agent goaltender Martin Gerber to a one-year, two-way contract.  The deal will pay Gerber $500,000 in the NHL and $200,000 in the American Hockey League.  Gerber played last year with Altant Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League and had a record of 15-6-6 with a 2.19 GAA and .914 save percentage in 30 games.

July 31: Oilers re-sign goaltender Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers to a one year $1.05 million contract, avoiding salary arbitration.  Deslauriers, who will be an unrestricted free agent after next season, had a record of 16-28-4 with a 3.26 GAA and a .901 save percentage in 48 games with Edmonton last season.
July 27: Oilers re-sign centre Gilbert Brule to a two-year contract worth $1.85 million per season, avoiding salary arbitration.  Brule scored 17-20-37 with 38 PIM in 65 games with the Oilers last season. Last season he finished fourth in team scoring, second in goals and tied for first in game-wining goals with three.
July 16: Oilers re-sign centre Ryan O’Marra to a one-year, $700,000 contract.  O’Marra scored 12-6-18 with 59 PIM in 74 games with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, and added 0-1-1 in three games with Edmonton.
July 16: Oilers sign unrestricted free agent left-winger Gregory Stewart to a one-year, $550,000 contract.  Stewart spent the majority of last season in the American Hockey League, scoring 6-5-11 with 129 PIM in 54 games with Hamilton and Chicago.  He also played five NHL games with Montreal, going scoreless with 11 PIM.
July 15: Oilers re-sign defenseman Theo Peckham to a one-year, $550,000 contract.  Peckham split last season between Edmonton and the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.  He scored 0-1-1 with 43 PIM in 15 games with the Oilers, and added 0-6-6 with 106 PIM in 37 games with Springfield.
July 14: Oilers re-sign left-winger Jean-Francois Jacques to a one-year, $615,000 contract, avoiding salary arbitration.  Jacques scored 4-7-11 with 78 PIM in 49 games with Edmonton last season.
July 13: Oilers re-sign goaltender Devan Dubnyk to a two-year deal worth $800,000 per season.  Dubnyk had a record of 4-10-2 with a 3.57 GAA and a .889 save percentage in 19 games with Edmonton last season. 
July 13: Oilers sign unrestricted free agent defenceman Shawn Belle on a one-year, $600,000 contract.  Belle split last season between the Montreal Canadiens and their farm team, the Hamilton Bulldogs.  In 70 games with Hamilton, Belle scored 3-16-19 with 39 PIM.  He was scoreless in two games with Montreal.
July 9: Oilers sign unrestricted free agent right-winger Ben Ondrus to a one-year, $550,000 contract.  Ondrus split last season between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, scoring 10-7-17 in 57 AHL games and going pointless in 11 NHL games.  Ondrus was the team captain of the Marlies.
July 7: Oilers sign unrestricted free agent centre Brad Moran to a one-year contract.  Moran, 31, scored 14-26-40 in 55 games with Skelleftea HC in the Swedish Elite League last season. Originally drafted by Buffalo in the seventh round (191st overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Moran has played eight NHL games, scoring 1-2-3.
July 5: Oilers sign left winger Taylor Hall to a three-year NHL entry level contract.  The deal will pay Hall a base salary of $900,000, but performance bonuses could push the salary up as high as $3.75 million.  Hall, the first overall selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, scored 40-66-106 in 57 games with the Windsor Spitfires of the American Hockey League last season.
July 5: Oilers Gilbert Brule, Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers and Jean-Francois Jacques file for salary arbitration.  If the Oilers are unable to reach a deal with them prior to their arbitration hearings, the players' salaries for next season will be determined by an independent arbitrator.
July 3: Oilers sign free agent left-winger Alexander Giroux to a one year, $500,000 contract.  Giroux scored 50-53-103 in 69 games last season with Hershey of the American Hockey League, and added 1-2-3 in nine games with Washington on the NHL.  Giroux has signed a one-way contract with the Oilers, but it is expected that he will play in Oklahoma City next season.
July 2:
Oilers sign free agent left winger Steve MacIntyre to a one-year, $500,000 contract. MacIntyre played four games for the Oilers last season before being picked up on waivers by the Florida Panthers.  In 22 NHL games, he scored 0-1-1 with 24 PIM.  He added 0-2-2 and 86 PIM in 34 games with Rochester of the American Hockey League.

July 2: Oilers re-sign defenceman Jason Strudwick to a one-year, $725,000 contract.  Strudwick, who was an unrestricted free agent, scored 0-6-6 with 50 PIM in 72 games with Edmonton last season.
July 2: Oilers sign free agent defenceman Richard Petiot on a one-year, $550,000 contract.   Petiot scored 8-29-37 with 88 PIM in 80 games last season with the Rockford Ice Hogs of the American Hockey League.
July 1: Oilers re-sign centre Colin Fraser to a two-year contract that will pay him $825,000 per season.  Fraser, who was acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this summer, scored 7-12-19 with 44 PIM in 70 games last season.

June 30:
Oilers buy-out the contract of forward Robert Nilsson. The move will actually save the team $83,333 off the salary cap in 2010-2011, and will count for $416,667 against the 2011-2012 salary cap.  Nilsson scored 11-16-27 with a -17 rating in 60 games.  He was set to make $2,500,000 in 2010-2011.
June 30:
Oilers trade left winger Patrick O'Sullivan to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for defenceman 
Jim Vandermeer.  Phoenix then buys out the O'Sullivan's contract.

Vandermeer, who will earn $2.3 million next season in the final year of his contract, scored 4-8-12 with 60 PIM in 62 games with Phoenix last year.

O'Sullivan scored 11-23-34 with an NHL-worst -35 rating in 73 games.  He would have earned $2,925,000 next season.

June 30: Left Winger Ethan Moreau is claimed off waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets.  The move saves the Oilers from having to pay a $1,416,666 buyout.  Moreau, the Oilers captain, scored 9-9-18 with a -18 rating in 76 games last season.  He would have earned $1,750,000 next season had he remained with the Oilers.
June 29: Oilers place forwards Ethan Moreau, Robert Nilsson and Patrick O'Sullivan on waivers.  Players that teams intend to buy-out need to be placed on waivers for 24 hours beforehand.
June 28: Oilers do not submit qualifying offers to centers Marc-Antoine Pouliot andRyan Potulny, making them both unrestricted free agents as of July 1.

Other players who did not receive qualifying offers included: Bryan Lerg, Colin McDonald, Geoff Paukovich and Viatcheslav Trukhno.

The rest of the Oilers restricted free agents have received qualifying offers and will now await new contracts.  Those players include: Gilbert Brule, Andrew Cogliano, Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers, Devan Dubnyk, Colin Fraser, Sam Gagner, Jean-Francois Jacques, Ryan O’Marra, Theo Peckham and Liam Reddox.

The Oilers acquired an additional 7th round pick (202nd overall) from the Phoenix Coyotes for a 2011 6th round pick.

June 26: Oilers trade prospect Riley Nash to the Carolina Hurricanes for a 2010 2nd round pick (46th overall).  Nash, who was drafted by the Oilers in the first round (21st overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, just finished his third season at Cornell University of the ECAC and had not committed to playing for the Oilers.

Oilers select left winger Taylor Hall first overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.  Hall, who played for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League last season, scored 40-66-106 to finish tied for the league lead in scoring.  He led Windsor to back-to-back OHL championships and Memorial Cup wins, and was the first player in history to be named the Memorial Cup MVP twice.

Oilers acquire centre Colin Fraser from the Chicago Blackhawks for a 2010 sixth round pick (151st overall).  Fraser, 25, scored 7-12-19 with 44 PIM in 70 games with Chicago last year.  Fraser made $700,000 last season, and will be a restricted free agent on July 1.

June 22: Oilers name Tom Renney as head coach, and move former coach Pat Quinn to the newly created position of Senior Hockey Advisor. Under Quinn, the Oilers finished dead last in the NHL with a record of 27-47-8.
June 1:
Oilers sign left winger Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson to a three-year NHL entry level contract.  Paajarvi-Svensson, the Oilers 1st round pick (10th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, scored 12-17-29 in 49 games with Timra IK of the Swedish Elite League last season.  He also led Team Sweden in scoring with 5-4-9 in nine games at the 2010 World Championship.
