May 30: Oilers sign defenceman Josef Hrabal to a two-year NHL entry level contract.  Hrabal, the Oilers' 8th round pick (248th overall) in the 2003 NHL entry draft, has played the last six seasons in Europe.  Last season the 22-year-old scored 3-10-13 with 76 PIM in 56 games with the Severstal Cherepovets of the Russian Superliga.
May 14: Oilers sign goaltender Bryan Pitton to a three-year NHL entry level contract.  Pitton, the Oilers' fifth round pick (133rd overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, had a 22-13-2 record with a 2.54 GAA and a .911 save percentage in 39 games with Brampton of the Ontario Hockey League last season

Grebeshkov
Oilers re-sign defenceman Denis Grebeshkov to a one-year, $1.5 million contract. 

Grebeshkov scored 3-15-18 with 22 PIM and a +2 rating in 71 games with the Oilers last season.

Apr. 12:
Oilers re-sign right winger Robert Nilsson to a three-year, $6 million contract.  The deal will pay Nilsson $1.5 million next season, $2 million in 2009-10 and $2.5 million in 2010-11.

Nilsson scored 10-31-41 with 22 PIM in 71 games with Edmonton, and added 2-2-4 in 5 games with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

Apr. 11:
Gilbert
Oilers re-sign defenceman Tom Gilbert to a six-year, $24 million contract.  The new deal will pay Gilbert $3.5 million both next season and in 2009-10, $5.5 million in 2010-11, $5 million in 2011-12, $3.5 million in 2012-13 and $3 million in 2013-2014. 

Gilbert had an outstanding rookie season for the Oilers, breaking Paul Coffey's rookie records for goals by a defenceman as well as points.  Gilbert finished with 13-20-33 with 30 PIM in 82 games.

Apr. 1:
Oilers sign free agent centre Bryan Lerg to a two-year NHL Entry Level contract.  Lerg scored 20-19-39 with 18 PIM in 42 games with Michigan State of the NCAA last season.  Lerg has also agreed to an amateur tryout deal with the Springfield Falcons for the remainder of this season, and he will join the Oilers AHL affiliate for the stretch run this week.

Mar. 25: Oilers recall goaltender Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers from the Springfield Falcons of the AHL.  Deslauriers has a record of 24-16-5 with a 2.91 GAA and a .911 save percentage in 54 games with Springfield this season.
Mar. 21: Oilers sign defenceman Cody Wild to a three-year NHL entry level contract.  Wild, the Oilers' fifth-round pick (140th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, scored 4-18-22 with 28 PIM in 32 games with Providence College this season.  He has now turned pro and has joined the Springfield Falcons of the AHL for the remainder of their season.
Mar. 21: Oilers sign left winger Tim Sestito to a two-year contract extension.  Sestito has scored 5-9-14 with 154 PIM in 68 games with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL this season.
Mar. 9: Oilers activate defenceman Ladislav Smid from the NHL Injured Reserve List, and re-assign defenceman 
Theo Peckham to the Springfield Falcons of the AHL.
Mar. 6: Oilers recall defenceman Theo Peckham from the Springfield Falcons of the AHL.  In 42 games with the Falcons this year, Peckham has scored 6-4-10 with 113 PIM. 
Mar. 3: Oilers recall forward Marc Pouliot from the Springfield Falcons of the AHL.  Pouliot has scored 20-22-42 with 45 PIM in 50 games for the Falcons this year.  In nine games with Edmonton, Pouliot has been held scoreless with four PIM.

Feb. 28: Oilers place defenceman Ladislav Smid on the NHL Injured Reserve List.  Smid suffered a sprained right ankle and knee during a Feb. 21 practice.
Feb. 25: Oilers announce that left-winger Ethan Moreau suffered a broken left ankle in the Feb. 25 game against Colorado and will miss the rest of the season.  Moreau also missed the first 38 games of the season with a fractured left foot.  Moreau finishes the season with 5-4-9 and 39 PIm in 25 games. 
Feb. 22: Left winger Patrick Thoresen is claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers.  In 17 games with the Oilers this year, Thoresen had scored 2-1-3 with 6 PIM.
Feb. 21: Oilers recall left winger Patrick Thoresen from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, then place him on waivers.  Thoresen was in Springfield on a conditioning stint and will need to clear waivers before being re-assigned again.
Feb. 13: Oilers recall defenceman Mathieu Roy from Springfield of the American Hockey League.  In 20 games with Springfield, Roy has scored 2-8-10 with 34 PIM.  He has also played four games with Edmonton, going scoreless with five PIM.
Feb. 12: Oilers announce that defenceman Sheldon Souray will miss the rest of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder.  The injury has limited Souray to just 26 games this year.  In those games, he has scored 3-7-10 with 36 PIM.
Feb. 7: Oilers reassign left winger Patrick Thoresen to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League on a conditioning assignment. Thoresen has scored 2-1-3 with 6 PIM in 17 games with the Oilers this season.
Feb. 4: Oilers announce that centre Shawn Horcoff will require surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and will miss the rest of the season.  Horcoff is the Oilers leading scorer with 21-29-50 in 52 games and was on-pace for a career year.
Feb. 1:
Glencross
Oilers acquire left winger Curtis Glencross from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for defenceman Dick Tarnstrom.  Glencross, a 25-year-old rookie, has scored 6-6-12 with 25 PIM in 36 games with the Blue Jackets this season.

Tarnstrom, who was signed by the Oilers as an unrestricted free agent this past summer, had scored 1-4-4 with 40 PIM in 29 games with Edmonton this season.

Feb. 1: Oilers activate left winger Geoff Sanderson from the NHL Injured Reserve List.
