Nedved
|
|
Oilers
claim centre Petr
Nedved off re-entry waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers. Under
NHL rules, the Oilers will only have to pay for about half of Nedved's
pro-rated $2.356 million salary, which will amount to about $630,000 for
the remainder of the season.
Nedved
has struggled this year, scoring just 1-6-7 with 18 PIM and a -20 rating
in 28 NHL games with the Flyers. In 14 games with their AHL affiliate,
Nedved has added 4-7-11 with 10 PIM and a -8 rating.. |
This is
Nedved's second stint with the Oilers. He played 16 games with Edmonton
during the 2003-04 season after being acquired at the trade deadline and
went on to score 5-10-15 down the stretch. However, it wasn't enough
to help the Oilers make the playoffs that season. |
