| Oilers
trade defenceman Marc-Andre
Bergeron and an third round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft to the
New York Islanders for defenceman Denis
Grebeshkov.
Grebeshkov
has scored 6-8-14 with 65 PIM in 40 games with Yaroslavl Lokomotiv in Russia.
Since being drafted by Los Angeles 18th overall in 2002, Grebeshkov has
played only 33 NHL games, scoring 0-3-3 with 20 PIM.
This
trade can probably be summed up as addition by subtraction, as Bergeron's
mistakes during games often proved costly for the Oilers. In 55 games
this year, Bergeron scored 8-17-25 with 28 PIM and a -9 rating. |
