Peckham
Oilers sign defenceman Theo Peckham to a three-year entry level contract.  Peckham, the Oilers' third round pick (75th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, scored 10-25-35 with 173 PIM in 53 games with Owen Sound of the OHL last season.
May 4:
Oilers sign goaltender Glenn Fisher to a one-year entry level contract.  Fisher, the Oilers' 
fifth round pick (148th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, went 13-9-2 with a 2.32 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage in 24 games with the University of Denver this past season. 

In his four seasons with Denver, Fisher was 39-22-6 with a 2.71 GAA and four shutouts in 76 games.

May 2:
Cogliano
Oilers sign centre Andrew Cogliano to a three-year entry level contract.  Cogliano, the Oilers’ first round pick (25th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, opted to forego his final two years with the University of Michigan and turn pro.

Last year, Cogliano scored 24-26-50 in 38 games with Michigan.  He has represented Canada at the last two World Junior Championships, bringing home a pair of gold medals.

Apr. 9: Oilers reassign five players to their AHL affiliates. Centre Marc Pouliot and defencemen Tom Gilbert and 
Bryan Young have been sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.  Defenceman Dan Syvret was assigned to Grand Rapids and left winger Zack Stortini was assigned to Hamilton. 
Apr. 7: Oilers reassign centre Rob Schremp to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL. Schremp was scoreless in the one game he played with the Oilers this season.
Apr. 4: Oilers recall centre Rob Schremp from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL. Schremp has scored 16-34-50 with 36 PIM in 67 games this season.  If he plays in the next Oilers game, it will mark his NHL debut.
Apr. 3: Oilers reassign left winger Jean-Francois Jacques to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.  Jacques was scoreless with 33 PIM in 37 games with the Oilers this season.

Mar. 31: Oilers recall defenceman Dan Syvret from Grand Rapids of the AHL. 
Mar. 25: Oilers reassign defenceman Dan Syvret to Grand Rapids of the AHL.  Syvret had no points and 4 PIM in the 12 games he played with the Oilers during his recall.
Mar. 24: Oilers reassign right winger Robert Nilsson to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.  Nilsson scored 1-0-1 with 4 PIM in four games with the Oilers during his emergency recall.
Mar. 22: Oilers reassign defenceman Sebastien Bisaillon to Val-d'Or of the QMJHL.  Bisaillon was held scoreless with no penalty minutes and a -1 rating in two games with the Oilers during his emergency recall.
Mar. 21: Oilers reassign centre Kyle Brodziak to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.  Brodziak scored 1-0-1 with 2 PIM in six games with the Oilers during his emergency recall.
Mar. 20: Oilers announced that defencemen Steve Staios will undergo surgery to repair a dislocated left kneecap and will miss the rest of the season. 
Mar. 18: Oilers recall defenceman Sebastien Bisaillon from Val-d'Or of the QMJHL.  The emergency recall was required after the Oilers lost defenceman Ladislav Smid to bruised ribs during the Mar. 17 game against St. Louis.  In 63 games with Val-d’Or this season, Bisaillon has scored 12-40-52 with 30 PIM.
Mar. 14: Oilers recall right winger Robert Nilsson from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.  Since being acquired from the New York Islanders in the Ryan Smyth trade, Nilsson has scored 1-9-10 with 8 PIM in seven AHL games.  Overall this season, Nilsson has scored 13-42-55 with 42 PIM in 57 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Bridgeport.
Mar. 8: Oilers recall defenceman Bryan Young from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.  The recall was required after injuries to defencemen Steve Staios (left knee) and Jan Hejda (left shoulder).

Young, the Oilers’ fifth round pick (146th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, has scored 0-1-1 with 8 PIM in 30 AHL games with Wilkes/Barre-Scranton and Mikwaukee, and has added 0-4-4 and 24 PIM in 17 games with Stockton of the ECHL.

Mar. 5: Oilers place centre Petr Nedved on the NHL Injured Reserve List and recall centre Kyle Brodziak from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.  Brodziak has scored 21-25-46 with 40 PIM in 49 games with the Penguins this season.

Feb. 27:
Oilers trade left winger Ryan Smyth to the New York Islanders for minor league right winger FILL
Robert Nilsson, junior centre Ryan O’Marra and the Islanders’ first round choice in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Nilsson, the Islanders first round pick (15th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, has scored 12-33-45 with 34 PIM in 50 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL.  He has also played a total of 53 NHL games, scoring 6-14-20 with 26 PIM. 

O’Marra, the Islanders first round pick (15th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, has scored 21-18-39 with 63 PIM in 39 games with the Saginaw Spirit and Erie Otters of the OHL. 

Smyth, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season, was the Oilers leading scorer with 31-22-53 and 38 PIM in 53 games.

Feb. 27: Oilers recall left winger Jean-Francois Jacques from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.
Feb. 26: Oilers place defenceman Daniel Tjarnqvist back on the NHL Injured Reserve List and recall defenceman 
Dan Syvret from Grand Rapids of the AHL.
Feb. 24: Oilers recall left winger Zack Stortini from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL and reassign left winger Jean-Francois Jacques to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.
Feb. 23: Oilers activate right winger Fernando Pisani and defenceman Daniel Tjarnqvist from the NHL Injured Reserve List.  To make room on the roster, the Oilers have placed centre Petr Nedved on the NHL Injured Reserve List and have reassigned left winger Zack Stortini to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL.
Feb. 19: Oilers place right winger Fernando Pisani on the NHL Injured Reserve List and recall defenceman Tom Gilbert and left winger Jean-Francois Jacques from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.

Oilers trade defenceman Marc-Andre Bergeron and an third round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft to the New York Islanders for defenceman Denis Grebeshkov

Grebeshkov has scored 6-8-14 with 65 PIM in 40 games with Yaroslavl Lokomotiv in Russia.  Since being drafted by Los Angeles 18th overall in 2002, Grebeshkov has played only 33 NHL games, scoring 0-3-3 with 20 PIM. 

This trade can probably be summed up as addition by subtraction, as Bergeron's mistakes during games often proved costly for the Oilers.  In 55 games this year, Bergeron scored 8-17-25 with 28 PIM and a -9 rating.

Feb. 12:
Stoll
Oilers place centre Jarret Stoll on the NHL Injured Reserve List and recall left winger 
Patrick Thoresen from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.  Stoll suffered a concussion in the Feb. 1 game against Vancouver and will be out of the lineup indefinitely.
Feb. 8:
Oilers recall centre Marc-Antoine Pouliot from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.  This is Pouliot's second stint with the Oilers.  He has scored 2-1-3 with 4 PIM in 18 games with Edmonton this year.

In 30 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pouliot has scored 12-17-29 with 20 PIM.

Thoresen
Oilers reassign left winger Patrick Thoresen to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.  Thoresen has scored 2-8-10 with 37 PIM in 43 games with the Oilers this year.

This is the second time Thorsen has been demoted.  During his first stint with the Penguins, he scored 1-4-5 in two games and was quickly recalled.
