Oilers re-sign left winger
Jani
Rita and center Jarret
Stoll to one year contracts, and left winger
Brad
Winchester to a two-year deal.
Rita, who signed for the
league minimum $450,000, played with HPK Hameenlinna in Finland during
the lockout, scoring 21-18-39 with 12 PIM in 56 games. This will probably
be Rita's last chance to earn a roster spot with the Oilers.
After a strong rookie season
with the Oilers in 2003-04, Stoll played last season with the Edmonton
Road Runners, scoring 21-17-38 with 92 PIM in 66 games. Stoll's contract
will pay him $501,600 this season.

full season in the AHL last year, scoring 22-18-40 with 143 PIM in 76 games
with the Road Runners. The power forward received a one-way contract
for $450,000 this season and $500,000 in 2006-07, and should have a good
chance at cracking the Oilers' lineup this fall. |
