News & Notes (December 2005 to March 2006)

Feb. 13:

The Olympic break couldn't have come soon enough for the Edmonton Oilers.  The team enters the break on a three-game losing stream (including one shootout loss), and with a number of players injured.  Ethan Moreau (sprained ankle), Jason Smith (broken toe), Michael Peca (groin strain), Dick Tarnstrom (respiratory infection), Marty Reasoner (bruised lung) and Igor Ulanov (ribs) will all use the break to heal their wounds.  The team doesn't play again until March 1.

Meanwhile, Ryan Smyth and Chris Pronger are off to Italy to play for Team Canada, and Ales Hemsky and Jaroslav Spacek will play for the Czechs.
