A power-play goal by the LA Kings in the second period of their Dec. 16 game against Edmonton marked the 13th straight game that the Oilers had given up at least one powerplay goal in a game.  This surpasses the previous franchise record of 12 straight games with a powerplay goal against.  The Oilers' penalty killing is ranked dead-last in the NHL, and has been a huge disappointment for the team this season.
