May 28 Oilers sign defenceman Doug Lynch and forward Dan Baum to three-year contracts.  Lynch, drafted in the second round (43rd overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, scored 13-17-30 55 with Red Deer and Spokane of the WHL last season.  Baum, drafted in the seventh round (215th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, scored  32-41-73 with 218 PIM in 72 games with Prince George of the WHL last year.
May 22 Oilers announce that General Manager Kevin Lowe has agreed to a four-year contract extension. The extension will see Lowe stay on as G.M. through the 2007-08 NHL season.

Apr. 15 Oilers announce that right winger Radek Dvorak will be out of the lineup indefinitely after suffering a fractured right hand in Game 4 of the Western Conference Quarterfinal versus the Dallas Stars.
Apr. 1 NHL names right winger Ales Hemsky Rookie of the Month for March  Hemsky scored 16 points (3-13-16) in sixteen games and shared the rookie lead in plus-minus at +9.  Hemsky scored eight of the 16 points during a career-high seven game scoring streak that saw him score 1-7-8

Mar. 31 Oilers reassign goaltender Ty Conklin to the Hamilton Bulldogs.  Conklin did not make it to Chicago in time for the Oilers' game against the Blackhawks so the team was forced to dress video coach Brian Ross as backup for Tommy Salo.
Mar. 30 Oilers recall goaltender Ty Conklin from the Hamilton Bulldogs after netminder Jussi Markkanen comes down with a bout of food-poisoning. 
Mar. 12 Oilers assign left wing Raffi Torres to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Isbister
Oilers acquire left wingers Brad Isbister and Raffi Torres from the New York Islanders in exchange for defenceman Janne Niinimaa and a 2003 second-round draft pick.

Isbister, a third round pick (67th overall) in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, has scored 10-13-23 with 34 PIM in 53 games with the Islanders this season.  In 346 NHL games, he has totalled 80-80-161 with 456 PIM.

Torres, the Islanders' first-round pick (5th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, has scored 17-15-32 in 49 games this season with the AHL Bridgeport Sound Tigers.  In 31 NHL games, he has recorded six assists and 16 PIM.

Oilers obtain right winger Radek Dvorak and defenceman Cory Cross from the New York Rangers in exchange for right winger Anson Carter and defenceman Ales PisaThere are also unconfirmed reports that the Rangers also included $2 million in the deal.

Dvorak, a first round pick (10th overall) in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, has scored 6-21-27 in 63 games with the Rangers this year.  In 592 NHL games, he has totalled 134-192-326 with 178 PIM. 

Cross, a nine-year NHL veteran, has scored 0-4-4 with 16 PIM and a +13 rating with the Rangers this year.  In 524 HNL games, he has totalled 22-75-97 with 561 PIM.  Cross is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the off-season.

Mar. 11 Oilers recall defenceman Marc-Andre Bergeron from the Hamilton Bulldogs 
Mar. 10 NHL names goaltender Tommy Salo was named NHL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 9.  Salo led the Oilers to three consecutive victories by posting a 1.01 goals-against average and a .961 save percentage. 
Mar. 9 Oilers reassign defenceman Marc-Andre Bergeron to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Mar. 5 Oilers recall defenceman Marc-Andre Bergeron from the Hamilton Bulldogs and reassign left wing Jani Rita to Hamilton.  Bergeron has scored 7-30-37 in 65 AHL games this season.
Mar. 3 Oilers reactivate left wing Ryan Smyth from the NHL Injured Reserve List and reassign center Jarret Stoll to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Mar. 2 Oilers reassign goaltender Ty Conklin to the Hamilton Bulldogs.  Conklin did not play during his recall.

 
FEBRUARY, 2003

Feb. 28 Oilers reassign defenceman Kari Haakana to the Hamilton Bulldogs and recall left winger Jani Rita.
Feb. 27 Oilers recall goaltender Ty Conklin and defenceman Kari Haakana from Hamilton and reassign left winger Jani Rita to the Bulldogs. Conklin was recalled after Tommy Salo suffered a groin injury. Haakana will fill in for Scott Ferguson, who has come down with a stomach virus.
Feb. 26 Oilers recall center Jarret Stoll from the Hamilton Bulldogs after center Mike York suffers a fractured right wrist.  It is uncertain how long York will be sidelined.
Feb. 14 Oilers recall left wing Jani Rita from the Hamilton Bulldogs.  This is Rita's second stint with the Oilers.  He has scored 1-0-1 in six NHL games this season.
Feb. 12 Oilers place defenceman Jason Smith on the NHL Injured Reserve List with a third-degree separation of the left shoulder.  Smith is expected to be sidelined for two to four weeks.
Feb 10 Oilers activate defenceman Kari Haakana from the NHL Injured Reserve Listand assign him to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Feb. 4 Oilers name Joe Paterson Assistant Coach of the Hamilton Bulldogs.
