| Jan. 14: | Oilers assign goaltender JOAQUIN GAGE to the Hamilton Bulldogs. Gage had a 2-2-0 record with a 3.47 GAA and a .880 save percentage in five games with Edmonton this season. |
| Jan. 12: | Oilers acquire defenceman RORY FITZPATRICK from the Nashville Predators in exchange for future considerations. Fitzpatrick was scoreless in a pair of games with Nashville this season, but has played the bulk of the year with the Milwaukee Admirals of the IHL where he has scored 0-2-2 in 22 games. He has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs. |
| Jan. 11: | Oilers place center TODD MARCHANT on the injured reserve list with a separated left shoulder. Marchant is expected to miss the next three weeks. The injury brings to an end a streak of 234 consecutive games played by Marchant, who has scored 7-19-26 in 45 games this season. |
| Jan. 10: | Oilers claim goaltender DOMINIC ROUSSEL off waivers from the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Roussel had a record of a 2-5-2 with a 2.85 goals-against average and .895 save percentage in 13 games with Anaheim this season. His acquisition gives the Oilers a solid backup with NHL experience, and likely signals a trip to Hamilton for backup Joaquin Gage. |
| Jan. 7: | Oilers place defenceman FRANK MUSIL on the injured reserve list with numbness in his right arm. Musil missed all of last season with damaged vertebrae in his neck after fell head first into the boards at practice in October of 1999. Team doctors have yet to derermine if the numbness in his arm is related to this injury. |
| Jan. 7: | Oilers announced that right winger JOSH GREEN will have to undergo surgery to repair a dislocated right shoulder and will miss the remainder of the season. It has been a hard-luck season for Green, who missed the first 40 games of the season recovering from left shoulder surgery. Two games into a conditioning stint with the Hamilton Bulldogs, he injured his other shoulder. |

| Dec. 30: | Oilers sign center MIKE COMRIE to a three year contract. Comrie, the Oilers' 3rd round pick (91st overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, would have become an unrestricted free agent had he not been signed by July 1. Comrie's deal is for the rookie salary cap of $1.025 million per season, plus incentives that could make the contract worth a total of $9 million. |
| Dec. 29: | Oilers reassign center BRIAN SWANSON to the Hamilton Bulldogs. Swanson had scored 1-1-2 in 16 games with the Oilers this season. |

| Dec. 18: | Oilers acquire center SERGEI ZHOLTOK from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for center CHAD KILGER. The 28-year-old Zholtok scored 1-10-11 in 32 games with the Habs this season, while Kilger had 5-2-7 in 34 games with Edmonton. |
| Dec. 16: | Oilers recall defenceman SCOTT FERGUSON from the Hamilton Bulldogs. Ferguson has scored 3-14-17 with 36 PIM in 28 games with the 'Dogs this season. |
| Dec. 15: | Hamilton right winger MARK DEYELL announces his retirement. Deyell, who was signed to a 25 game tryout with the 'Dogs, was attempting a comeback after suffering an eye injury in 1999 while playing with the St. John's Maple Leafs. Although Deyell scored 4-5-9 in his 17 games with Hamilton, he decided to retire from hockey and accept an insurance settlement for his injury. |
| Dec. 14: | The NHL suspends defenseman IGOR ULANOV for two games for cross-checking Dallas Stars' left winger Brenden Morrow on Dec. 13. Ulanov will miss games against Nashville (Dec. 14) and Washington (Dec. 16). |

| Nov. 10: | Oilers acquire right winger
ANSON
CARTER from the Boston Bruins in exchange for right winger BILL
GUERIN. The Oilers also receive the Bruins' second round pick
in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the option to flip first round picks with
Boston in either 2001 or 2002, as well as future considerations.
Carter, who scored 22-25-47
in 59 games with the Bruiins last season, was engaged in a contract hold-out.
The Oilers signed him to a two year, $3.8 million contract once the deal
was complete. Guerin was Edmonton's second-leading scorer this season
with 12-10-22 in 21 games.

SALO to a three year contract extension, locking him up through the
2003-04 season. The deal also includes a club option for two additional

season.
