MCDONALD.
Bergeron, who scored 42-59-101 with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL last season, signed a three-year deal. His 42 goals set a QMJHL record for goals by a defencemen. Reichert, who scored 12-23-35 in 60 games with Dusseldorf EG in Germany last season, signed a two-year deal. McDonald, a tough guy who tallied 363 PIM with the Florida Everblades and Roanoke Express of the ECHL last season, signed a one year contract. |

| Apr 8: | Oilers recall goaltender JOAQUIN GAGE, forwards JASON CHIMERA and PAUL HEALEY and defenceman ALEX HENRY from the Hamilton Bulldogs. Backup netminder Dominic Roussel suffered a concussion in the final game of the season against Vancouver, so Gage will travel with the team to Dallas. The other three players will remain in Edmonton. |

| Mar. 13: | Oilers acquire defenceman SVEN BUTENSCHON from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for left winger Dan LaCouture. Butenschon, Pittsburgh's third round pick (57th overall) in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, had one assist with two penalty minutes in five games with the Penguins this season LaCouture had scored 2-4-6 with 29 PIM in 37 games with Edmonton this season. |
| Mar. 12: | Goaltender TOMMY SALO is named the National Hockey League Player of the Week for the week of March 5-11. Salo went 3-0-0 with a 0.67 goals-against average, back-to-back shutouts and a .974 save percentage during the week. This is the second time this season that Salo has been named Player of the Week. |
| Mar. 5: | Oilers sign free agent forward SEAN MCASLAN to a three-year contract. McAslan has 19-27-46 with 123 PIM in 44 games with the WHL Calgary Hitmen. |

| Feb. 24: | Oilers defenceman IGOR ULANOV is placed on the injured reserve for a week to 10 days after taking a high stick near his left eye from the Flames' Jason Weimer. Ulanov was cut across the left eye lid and over the tear duct and suffered bleeding in the anterior compartment of the eye after the accidental high stick. |
| Feb. 22: | Oilers name PETE PEETERS as their new goaltending coach. |
| Feb. 13: | Center TODD MARCHANT is sidelined with a slightly sprained right knee. Marchant is listed as day-to-day. |
| Feb. 6: | Oilers recall defenceman SCOTT FERGUSON from the Hamilton Bulldogs. |
| Feb. 1: | Oilers reassign defenceman SCOTT FERGUSON to the Hamilton Bulldogs for the duration of the NHL All-Star break. Ferguson will play a pair of games with the 'Dogs before returning to the Oilers. |
