Game Notes: The Oilers took a 1-0 lead 4:44 into the first period, and attempted to protect it for 55 minutes.  The plan backfired as Brett Hull, Joe Nieuwendyk and Mike Modano (empty net) scored third period goals to seal another Dallas victory.

Dallas Stars 4, Edmonton Oilers 3 (OT)

Game Notes: Kirk Muller scored at 8:01 of overtime to give the Dallas Stars a 4-3 win and to put the Oilers on the brink of playoff elimination.  The Oilers had trailed 2-0 after a lifeless first two periods, but scored three third period goals to take a 3-2 lead before Dallas tied it late to force the overtime.

Game Notes: Mike Comrie scored on the power play at 17:19 of overtime to give the Oilers a 2-1 win and tie the best of seven series at two games a piece.  Comrie stepped up his role offensively after captain Doug Weight was ejected from the game in the first period for hitting Stars' defenceman Richard Matvichuk from behind.

Game Notes: Benoit Hogue scored with 12 seconds left in the first overtime period to give the Dallas Stars a 2-1 series lead.  The Oilers had been badly outplayed and out-coached for most of regulation time, but rebounded from a 2-0 deficit to score a pair of goals in the final 1:03 of the game to force the extra period.
