Sept. 26: Oilers re-sign defenceman JANNE NIINIMAA to a three-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Sept. 24: Edmonton Oilers announce they have reached a 5-year deal with the St. Albert-based Skyreach Equipment Ltd to rename the Edmonton Coliseum the Skyreach Centre. The deal, which has an option of an additional 5 years, is expected to generate about $1 million a year for the Oilers.
Sept. 20: Oilers conduct their first round of training camp cuts.
