April 24, 2000, Bill Ranford -- one of my all-time favorite Oiler players
-- announced his retirement after 15 seasons in the National Hockey League.
Ranford played parts of 10 seasons with the Oilers. |

Boston Bruins' second choice, 52nd overall, in the 1985-86 NHL Entry Draft. |

Traded
to Edmonton along with Geoff Courtnall for Andy Moog on March 8, 1988. |

Played
433 games with the Oilers before being traded back to Boston on Jan 11,
1996 for Mariusz Czerkawski, Sean Brown and the Bruins' first choice (defenceman
Matthieu Descoteaux) in the 1996 draft. |

Played
two seasons with the Bruins before being traded to Washington on March
1, 1997. |

Acquired
by Tampa Bay on June 18, 1998. |
