Sutton has been suspended for five games
by the National Hockey League after it was decided that he targeted the
head of forward Gabriel Landeskog in a hit during a game against the Colorado
Avalanche on Oct. 28. Sutton has already missed one game during his
suspension, so he will be eligible to return to the Oilers roster on Nov.
11 in Detroit.

RENEW AFFILIATION WITH STOCKTON

Edmonton Oilers and the Stockton Thunder of the East Coast Hockey League
have reached a new one-year affiliation agreement for the 2011-12 season.
This will mark the sixth straight season that Stockton has served as the
AA minor league affiliate for the Oilers.

announce that Duane
Sutter has been hired to join the team's pro scouting staff.
Sutter
was the Director of Player Personnel for the Calgary Flames from 2008-2011.
Before joining the Flames, Sutter spent 13 years in the Florida Panthers
organization as a head coach, assistant coach and pro scout. He also
appeared in 731 career NHL games, scoring 139-203-342 with 1333 penalty
minutes.
